Windows 8 boot stuff on another drive

I have two drives a WD Black and a 500GB Seagate. For some dumb reason Windows 8 installed its boot stuff onto that Seagate.
I found by accident by removing the Seagate drive and failing to boot win8.

Can I somehow fix the installation I have on the Black drive or do I need to reinstall? I ran the repair from Win8 volume but it reported I have Windows 7 on that black HDD...must be the old installation.

That's normal behavior for windows 7 and 8. When you install only have the OS drive attached. Disconect any other drives

To fix try disconnecting the second drive and boot to your system disk and repair

You can try to clone boot partition and move it on the other HD .

It looks there is some sort of boot folder on HDD2 Can I somehow view the MBR and be sure which is which ? I suspect it works like this :

HDD1 MBR -> HDD2 BOOTFOLDER -> HDD1 Win8 Installation.

Guessing any 3rd party modification will mess this up.
