For how many hours per day does your PC run?

We are wondering if you turn off your pc between usage sessions? Standby? Hibernation?

Times can be pretty random though out a day, could be 3hr's a day and could be up to 12 hours.

And to have a average would have to know in what time frame but it be a ruff estimate still.

The Computers I use don't get shut down, they get put to sleep when not in use.
I don't always use my desktop, in fact over the last 4 or 5 months I haven't used it much at all; but I use either a tablet or a laptop, or my pc an average of 2-5 hours per day.

Great question...

Out of 3 rigs, the one I use the most for surfing and email goes into standby after 20 minutes. Draws about 5 watts in standby (according to kill-a-watt). It runs about 2 hours a day I guess.

My gaming rig doesn't see much use lately as it's sort of still a work in progress. So less than an hour a day.

3rd one reserved as my media PC hasn't been used much at all. It's plugged into my TV and larger audio system and still a work in progress. That one will probably be on 3 hours a day when it's up and fully operational, and loaded with media scattered amongst the 10 different hard drives I have. I'll have to experiment with sleep/standby mode on that, don't want it shutting down when I'm watching a movie or listening to music.

Used to turn it off over night, but since last Fall, I've been running it in the evening for 4 or 5 hours, 2 hours in the morning, and Sleep in between. Restart it once every week or two, just to refresh.

there was no suitable option for me. I turn my PC on when I get up @ 7am, and turn it off usually around 11 PM, so about 16 hours a day. That's longer than I have the lights on in my house for.

what's more interesting to me is that I have 13 lightbulbs total in my house, and each is a 25W fluorescent bulb. That's 325W total, if I have all my lights on, every single one in every room(which never happens).

My gaming rig with OC pulls 1225W(monitors and stereo included). Almost 3x as much. Thank god I don't game all day long every day.

I have it on in the morning (7-9AM) and don't turn it off until bed (12-2AM). So at least 16 hours at minimum.

I can't pick anything on the poll.

I run my PC 24/7. the closest i get to turning it off is when i go to bed; I crunch while i sleep so the monitor goes off along with keyboard lighting. Other than that i turn it OFF for 1 night every 2 or 3 weeks.

Kinda depends.

When I'm doing my day job it tends to be on between 7-12 hours or so.

When I'm on leave, I might leave it on 24/7.
