7-Zip error when installing 314.22 driver?

I downloaded 314.22 and as soon as I double click on the file I get an error pop-up saying

7-Zip: Data error.

I re-downloaded another couple times just in case, still I keep getting the same error. :confused:

Where did you download the driver? AFAIK NVIDIA doesn't use 7-Zip's self-extracting .exe feature.

I downloaded both from TPU and from nvidia.com

I don't even have it installed.

And the other driver next to it (310.90) works with no errors if I try to install it.

It's probably a corrupted file that they uploaded. (TPU probably got it directly from NVIDIA.com too)

I'd download and test it myself, but I'm currently at work. :\

Yes, I installed it on all my machines without problem.

Edit: According to nVidia it means your download is corrupt. Re-downloading probably won't help since your browser will probably just serve up the corrupt version in your cache. Either try another browser so the file isn't already in your cache or try clearing your cache and re-downloading. Of course it is also possible that your ISP is running a cache and the version in their cache that you keep getting is corrupt, I don't know what you'd do then.

Yes I read that. Just thought it not possible to keep getting corrupted downloads no matter how much I download and from different sites. I'm using Chrome (have been for the last couple of years). Tomorrow I'll try IE.

Oh, and I just changed ISP a couple of weeks ago. It's the first time I'm downloading a NV driver with this ISP...

Still the same... IE says it's corrupt. I'll try from another pc in the same house, and put the file on pendrive to see if it works.

If that doesn't, I'll download it tomorrow from work, different ISP.

EDIT:

I downloaded the file from another pc (the BlackPanther one in system specs, rather than the White Bengal one) onto a pendrive... and it worked.

Download it to a completely different folder, drive if possible. It may be a bad sector that it keeps trying to use.

I would say download using a different computer just to test it

Sounds to me like you have downloading issues. If I were you, I'd try to download it via FTP instead of HTTP. FTP guarentees a complete file transfer where if there is any interruption in the transfer with HTTP, the file is considered downloaded.

I'm trying to find 314 here but I haven't found it yet...

Edit: It only appears to get up to 178.

You might have to go to a public internet access place to download it or contact your ISP and tell them you're having problems downloading large files over HTTP.

I did manage to install the driver, but only after downloading it from another machine (BlackPanther in my system specs) using the same home network, same ISP.

I did try to download in a different folder. And even to install to a different folder.
I even tried my pendrive.
(Also my drive's a SSD, does that get 'bad sectors' or equivalent? Just wondering since the topic came up)

In my system specs there are two pc's: BlackPanther and White Bengal.

The download isn't working on White Bengal. If I download from White Bengal, no matter which drive or browser I use, I get the error illustrated further above.

If I download from BlackPanther on pendrive, the driver installs fine on White Bengal.

So now another issue arises, what's wrong with White Bengal then? I only built it like 8 months ago and it always performed extremely snappy and fine just the way a lean mean gaming machine should. :confused:

I'd run a long ping test between the two computers. If there's any errors at all, I'd say there's a NIC or cable problem with that system.

All the same, it would tell you if there's a router-computer networking issue since, clearly, your computer to WAN works fine.

Edit: If your router responds to WLAN pings, you could try pinging the router instead.
