SAMSUNG Introduces New Ultra-Wide, 30" LCD Monitor

Samsung, today introduced the SyncMaster 305T, an ultra-wide, high-resolution 30-inch TFT-LCD monitor. Designed for the commercial market, the 305T combines a 16:10 wide-screen design and high, 2560x1600 resolution, making it ideal for a variety of professional applications, including medical, engineering, control rooms, CAD, graphics and design, and desktop publishing. Other specifications include 400cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 178/178 degree viewing angle, a fast response time of 6ms (GTG), and a 0.25 pixel pitch for clean, tight image reproduction.

Priced at $1999.99 MSRP, the 305T is a competitive choice for its size and performance value, said Andrew Weis, product marketing manager, display products, Samsung Electronics America, Inc.

"As a research and development leader, Samsung has the unique advantage of being able to produce great products to meet the needs of wide range of industries," Weis said. "The 305T is an outstanding choice for professionals that require superior image quality, versatility and an extended viewing area."

In addition to its specifications, the 305T is equipped with a number of features geared towards the professional user. This includes an 80mm height adjustable stand with flexible tilt and swivel capabilities, five USB 2.0 ports (one up, four down) and a wide viewing area that can support multi-window applications, helping to create improved work efficiency and reducing the need for two monitors. It also has wall-mounting brackets for space savings.

To aid in reduced power consumption, the 305T employs Samsung's Digital Power Management Signaling (DPMS) mode to automatically assess whether the monitor is in use and switches it to stand-by mode, which uses less than two watts of power.

All Samsung displays are backed by a three-year warranty on labor and parts, including the backlight, as well as toll-free technical support for the life of the display.

The 305T will be available in November through Samsung resellers and distribution channels, which can be located by calling 1-800-SAMSUNG or by visiting www.samsung.com. Samsung Power Partners receive special promotions, lead referrals, training and technical support, as well as collateral and marketing materials. I doubt you will.
30" monitors have never been meant to be gamed on.
Not yet at least.
That prob. wont happen for a while.
They finally started making a lot of 20" and 20.1" screens for gaming so I think we got a little while until that happens.

Yeah, expensive, but it's the same price as the Apple Cinema Series 30", which is also 2560x1600.
