By its wording, I'm expecting 7 series replacements (8970/9970/whatever they're going to call it). Plus, chronologically it is the right time.

If it's rebrands I'd expect 8000 series to be inline with the mobile parts, if it's anything interesting I'd expect 9000. Or I guess they could just say f u to their mobile line and use 8000 on something new anyways.

I think you're right and I'm pretty sure their top tier cards will be something new. I'm just interested if they're going to price them accordingly or go by Nvidia's new pricing... Actually it'll probably be somewhere in the middle.

Even if we will be briefed about some new cards I'm pretty sure there will be nothing about prices. But since you brought it up, I'd say if they match or even slightly exceed the 780 don't expect anything lower than $600. These are the new rules of the game.

This. It might have some new APU related stuff, but everything else will probably be already released stuff. The "latest AMD Radeon™ graphics cards" is probably laptop and the 7990.
Also, if the 9xxx series is supposed to be at the end of the year then it's doubtful that AMD will showcase the stuff now. Unless they do a paper launch soon after, but something like that would would of already started churning the rumour mill, so it's doubtful.
