Intel pledges support for latest Energy Star standards
The Energy Star rating is an award given to energy efficient appliances, and the EPA has recently updated their policy. Starting on July 20th, 2007, Energy Star Version 4.0 will require computers to be 65% more efficient then they would be without energy saving features to qualify for the award. Energy Star Version 4.0 will also require a sleep mode using no more then 15 watts of energy for qualification. Intel has recently announced that they will make Core 2 Duo fully compatible with the latest standards. They have also encouraged other tech companies to do the same.

I totally support that. For me a Computer has to be power efficient, which is why I still love AMD for C'n'Q.
I don't exactly know what the Conroes can do, but from what I've read it's not as good as C'n'Q, except of course you use RMClock, which then again is Win32 only :/ |
