System Specs

Intel releases Sonoma Notebook Chipset

Intel released the successor to the Centrino chipset. It is called Sonoma and is based on the i915 desktop chipset with features like:
  • Intel Graphics Media Processor 900
  • 533FSB with DDR2 (up to 2GB), and PCI-E support
  • High Definition Audio
  • SATA
  • Intel WiFi Support
  • Power Optimized FSB

Intel has kept the brand "Centrino" - Notebooks running 533 Mhz FSB use Sonoma, 400 FSB means the "old" Centrino.

Also new is support for DDR2 and PCI-Express.
