no resources assigned?

hi
my brother has a 9800pro in his pc, and for a unknow reason to me, after and before i install the drivers, it says that there is a problem with the drivers or no ati card detected when i try to start catalyst, atitool also always says that i'm using 5.5+ catalyst version (wich is not true)

on the dispositives manager (not sure if that's the word) it says that there isnt any resources free to use on the gfx card

any ideas?
it's driving me nuts

ps. the board is a shuttle something with one agp 2x slot, 4/5 pci, and 3 isa

well you are getting video output so its not a hardware problem. so its gotta be something with software. easy way is to format and reinstall the os.
