System Specs

My lap top temps AMD advice

My laptop is a Compaq r3000 amd 3400+ gig ram 80 gig lately it shuts down for unkown reasons I think its a thermal problem. temps most times are 199f-216f does this seem high fans are blowing like mad I wonder if the heatsink has degraded compound you amd guys what you think?

try laying some fresh silver and clean/lube the fans up.

sounds like a big problem i took my lapy apart and put ultra 5+ siver thermal compound. and it works good.

I have that on my laptop. Also...

My laptop overheated once, and then twice, then alot. I took apart the whole thing, reapplied thermal compound, and it worked like a charm... Stupid northwoods...

you know it started this about 6 months ago when I lodded xp pro I think I may restore it with the disc also my battery wont make 1 hour with xp pro. and yes I will recompound the processor and that program may help too I may try it first great advice from all thanks

Ok heatsink was completely stopped up and temps are 50c now compared to 80c I was seeing last night. Also I added zalman super heatsink compound seems to be nice now again thanks
