NVIDIA to release midrange/low end DX10 parts in Q1 2007

A week a go, we reported that NVIDIA was supporting 5 new graphics cards in beta driver version 96.94. According to a digitimes report, these are going to eventually become the G84 and G86 GPUs. The two new graphics cores will be sampled in January 2007, and should be shipped February 2007.

About the same as a 7900GT maybe? At least for DX9 games that is, I have no idea of what to expect when DX10 is released

Who says they will be Low end cards?

We could be looking at the 8900 GTX, an 8800 GTX but with an 80nm core and GDDR4.

Because you want to make money and not everyone wanting DX10 can afford 8800GTX/S prices, thus making something even more expensive would be just stupid. Sure they'll do that as well, if AMD/TI R600 will be fastest.

Honestly, most customers won't even consider GF 8800.
They will be looking for cards at $1000~$1500. (HKD that is ;P Around 128 to 192 USD, basicly $130~$200)
There simply aren't many enthusiast and aren't enough of them have the big bucks.

Well I hope that these mid-range and low-range cards are worth the money though.
They better not bring out a card that does the job of a 7600 for the price of a 7900..

Thatz y i always thing its better to wait until ATi release their DX10 mid-rangers.
Because your mid-range cards can very easily become low end when the GTOs mess up the party.
