Why is the torrentclient thread closed?

I use Utorrent to download files from the net very often.
There are many sites who are offering downloads thrue torrents.

Yeah, torrent clients are not illegal. It is what people DO with them that is. You can download many legal things such as linux distros with Torrent clients. WTF is up with admin.

Thats right, no one said ANYTHING about download crap illegally. Why can't you let us discuss software that is legal. If we were asking where to download illegal crap, then ban someone and lock the thread, but we here at TPU know so well that you don't want us discussing illegal activities, but what happens if I want to download Vista Beta 2 off MICROSOFT'S WEBSITE? Got to agree with people on this one - Bitorrenting isn't illegal and although I can understand that some of those threads do get out of hand that one seemed quite fair and still legal...

. Well, Devinxkillyou asked me why I closed the BT thread. We've had threads like this before (several times), and while you were not discussing piracy, most people assume when they see BT they obviously mean "easy and fun way to pirate all my games". And so, because discussion of piracy and it's methods are not allowed, I closed the thread. There have been countless times BT admins have been jailed, I'm pretty sure that bittorent ain't the most legal of programs...I'm just playing it safe. If you really think that I over-reacted, I'll unlock the thread
