Apple iPhone may have copyright issues.

The new gadget from Apple, the iPhone, should be available sometime in January. However, Apple may run into some serious patent/copyright issues. Several Canadian and American businesses have already trademarked iPhone, and Canadian service Comwave has offered it's iPhone service for a long time. How Apple will react to this, and what Comwave's reaction is, only time will tell.

Apple have had this kind of thing before, and it doesn't seem to bother them - they will end up doing what they want anyway. The trade-name Apple was in dispute years ago (the Beatles record company Apple Corps.v Apple Computers) and the solution was that Apple Computers could NOT use their trade name on any music related products. So they then go and bring out a HD based music player

ah, just looked this up, it gives more detail

With the success of the ipod, ibook, and imac - doing so would be a HUGE financial mistake. You may not care for it, but the population as a whole is intrigued by it, and will buy it.

yeah, i guess you have a point. but "i" everything gets a bit redundant. and i dearly hope that not everybody buys the ipod because its actually a good mp3 player, and not because of the name. although i know that some people do.
