X850XT AGP vs. Xbox 360

Hello again.
I have a lingering question.
How does the graphics processing power on the x850xt compare to the ATI chipset found in the Xbox 360?
I have one of the Sapphire x850 XT AGP's on a P4 3.0E HT on an i865PE with 1 gig of Patriot Dual Channel memory.
My friend who is a ultra-hardcore-360-junkie tells me that my graphics whip the hell out of his Xbox 360.
We have compared the computer side by side to the Xbox 360 with Need for Speed Most Wanted, Need 4 Speed Carbon, and Prey.

On all games for the PC, the graphics are TOTALLY MAXED OUT at 1024x768 with 4x AA.
Prey and Need 4 Speed Most Wanted run smooth as glass.
Need 4 Speed Carbon tends to stutter a little sometimes, as I could use another Gig of system Ram.

I have to admit, the Xbox 360 does look nice, as the GPU for it runs at 500mhz and it has a triple core 3.2 ghz cpu. The geometry of the 3d rendering is also nice.
I don't think the Xbox 360 can keep up in shader detail and framerates, but we have no way to benchmark the Xbox 360, and if you mess with the internals the Xbox 360 will commit suicide to keep it from being hacked. (Microsoft hates modifiers and hackers just like Hitler hated Jews)( a friend installed a cooling tower to her Xbox 360 and it killed itself like a soldier refusing to give secrets to the enemy!!!)

But now there is Gears of War for the Xbox 360, and boy does it look nice.
I cant wait till Gears of War comes out for PC, but I wonder if my system can handle it.

Here is the link for my motherboard, check it out and tell me what ya think.

Here is my memory, tell me what ya think.

Here are the main Questions:
How does my Sapphire x850xt compare to the Xbox 360's GPU?
How does my system compare to the Xbox 360?
Should I be able to smoothen out Need 4 Speed Carbon with another Gig of Ram?
Should I be able to run Gears of War when it comes out for PC?

360 gpu is much more powerful, you have to see a 360 on an HDTV in at least 720p (1280x720) to know.

the 360 will be smoother and better detail,as it only has to run the game unlike a pc which has to do much more, next years gpu with a x2cpu and a 1gig of ram will be smoother and better detail! the cpu in the 360 works different to the way a pc cpu work but isnt as powerfull as a x2 cpu! but the gpu is good and as a game package the 360 is better for games like carbon unless u hasve a 8800 or crossfire 1950xt... 1950 may be behind on the detail!

360 hands down. It is probably more powerful than the x1900XT's ATM.

don't forget the software is written for xbox only so it takes advantage of every bit of hardware. pc will blow it away with the new conroes and GPU's coming out in 2007 after the release of Vista, But a xbox may be a better deal dollar for dollar if gaming is mostly your gig.

This is very true. A 360 is made only for gaming. Because you can't change the hardware, Microsoft doesn't have to write a universal code that can be run on anything. They can know exactly what hardware to expect.
For example, have you ever tried to run an nVidia demo on an ATI card? My old Radeon 9800pro outperformed my roommate's FX5200 in every game imaginable, but his 30fps on nVidia's Dawn demo beat my 2 fps by a long shot. Why did his $50 beat my $400 card? Because the demo was designed to be run on nVidia. The code was designed to be run on one type of hardware. His hardware wasn't powerful (at all), but the software was efficient.
Same thing with Apple's Macs. The CPUs aren't powerful, the software is efficient. 500MHz G3 vs 1GHz+ machines? It's because Apple is efficient. (Linux, too)

And personally, I prefer a mouse over analogue sticks.

I used to be a heavy console gamer (killed 3 PS2's in 8 months) and loved the analogue sticks. Then I switched to PC and tried playing on a console a year later and I found it IMPOSSIBLE to aim with the analogue sticks.

R520 and the Xenos are a completely different beast. The Xenos was originally the R500, until Microsoft bought the exclusive rights to it from ATI. So ATI had to come up with the R520 real quick for the desktop market. The only thing the Xenos is comparable to is the upcoming R600, think of it as the true R600, and the R600 being Xenos 2.0
