Does the "lock reference divider" option help overclocking?
Well, I have an Asus A9600Pro/TD card, running by default at 398.25/297 Mhz. Without the "lock reference divider" option, it reaches frequencies about 430/270 Mhz (yes, really a memory underclock
), and any attempt to raise those ends in hideous artifacts in UT2003. But with "lock reference divider" on, I am able to reach 459/351 Mhz easily and all apps work with only minor artifacts. Is this normal? Anyone has similar experiences?P.S. "ATI Tray tools" seems to exhibit the same behaviour, so the problem is obviously not related to "ATI Tool" TIA, Vassil Daskalov |
