XP install BSOD

Hey all. Getting my computer built. First off specs:
Intel Core2 Duo E6600
2x 1GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2
EVGA 680i mobo
EVGA 8800 GTS
Corsair 620W Power Supply
SoundBlaster Audigy 4
2x 250GB WD SATA

Now, here's the deal. I get into Windows installation off of bootable CD, hit F6 to load SATA and RAID drivers from floppy, and get to "Setup is starting Windows". The computer then gives me a BSOD 0x0000006F Session3 initialization failed. I've tried using only one HD, one RAM stick, one DVD drive, and no soundcard to do the install with the same result. Then flashed to the P24 BIOS (the latest from EVGA) and tried again. I've even tried setting up a BartPE Windows installation off of a thumb drive, but I get a BSOD Process1 initialization failed instead. Is there something I'm missing?

How would i go about troubleshooting this and what are your opinions?

You ain't overclocking....right? try another cdrom drive. run memtest and see if the sticks are ok. if all else, possibly a defective mobo.

Could be a bad psu also. Noisy voltages can do goofy things too.

I'm not overclocking, tried using both drives. I'll try running memtest to see if RAM could be cause. I doubt both would be bad though. I've tried using one at a time, with the same end results.

Would a SLI certified PSU give noisy voltages? In the BIOS it said voltages were within acceptable range of the settings, and they didn't fluctuate at all.

Ok. Turns out I just needed to try a few different XP installation disks. I tried 3 CD's and 1 USB thumbdrive installation. Finally the 3rd CD let me get to the screen "Hit ENTER to install Windows", but the USB keyboard wouldn't work... So I ended up going back home (from school) and grabbing a PS/2 keyboard. Everything installed fine and so far I have a stable system. I don't understand why some installations of XP would blue screen consistantly while others wouldn't blue screen at all (with no changes in the BIOS). And yes, all of them were legal copies.

Thanks for your help.

Mmm... unplug all usb devices. The 5 volt rail is angry it seems... Unplug all cold cathodes and stuff that is bad like that.
