it is interesting.... but i am wondering what if you have a big cpu cooler? or even a stock cooler, maybe it is just the pic, but it looks like it would either be in the way or be pulling air away form the intake of the cpu cooler.

biostar has been catering to budget overclockers with their mid range boards since the tforce series

seriously.. biostar tforce is the only board to get for overclocking in the mid to low range for cash..

I don't get it either. I though that was some massive integrated GPU, but it has PCI-E power plug, so it has to be at least 9600GT. Where does the hybrid part come in? Plug in another GPU and it will use stock cooling.

So your supposed to rip out stock cooling from new NVIDIA cards that have mounting wholes for that cooler thingy and the motherboard reduces the clock when in 2D? Something ATI has had stock before.

Stick in 8800GT and I highly doubt the cooling power in gaming, same fan has to cool SB and NB too. Maybe I'm missing something crucial here (I blame the news release).

i think it has a gpu put into one of the pci slots and has integrated cooling, and then you pop in another nvidia card and put a sli bridge on em and you've got hybrid sli
l
-> sli'ing 2 different cards or sliing a video card with an igp. benefits are that it can shut down the powerful card and use the igp/weaker card for 2d graphics, etc. also it does provide a boost in fps.

Ah, now I get it. Plug in a 9800 card there and it will be shut off browsing TPU. Still curious though if it comes with that card pictured. If so then you could use it like that for a while and then buy something more powerful to SLI with.

lots of good information there

to highlight key points

-nvidia 750a chipset
-comes with an integrated 8 series gpu (the exact model wasn't stated.. its probably an 8400 or 8600 if we're lucky)
-they provide the heatpipe as pictured above for adding a video card. though the integrated 8 series gpu is on the board itself
-2 pci x16 slots (electrical x8 during sli)
-hdmi (supports onboard 8.2ch sound) for the video card but does have a dvi adapter
-has the usual good stuff of the tforce series apparently.

Even better, IGP is plenty for non 3D work. I want one of those with an S775, G45 maybe, would it work? Would be great in summer, not to heat up case or room and save power.

hybrid technology (crossfire/sli ) is powered by an ati(well amd now) chip so i doubt it'll be avaliable on the intel version(models ending with i.. e.g. 780i) of nvidia chips... intel chips like the p45 dont have support for it so chances are this will remain an amd platform technology avaliable through amd and nvidia amd chipsets.

Yep and ATI had something similar in the news while back, but as I have Intel+NVIDIA combo I'm out of luck Motherboard I could update, but won't touch nothing else for an year.

This could come the next big thing. First go with IGP + current price/performance king. Then ˝-1year later disable IGP, buy another price/performance king and HybridSLI those.

Yes, thats another fantastic design . . . <---< Cant we just fire these morons innovating motherboards to end up like crap ?

Firstly, all Gfx card should have a decent fan. Like the Asus 3870x2 that noone bothers to watercool or LN2 it because its already ideal, unlike the stock Asus 8800GTX fan. You get where im going with this.

Secondly, if i dont need to cool the gfx card because i didnt go out and purchase a dud, i would appreciate using the already little available space above the gfx card for my cpu cooler.

its bad idea to share heat between devices like Chipset and Video Cards, Separate heatpipes teend to keep things alot more chill.

I think the board is more going hybrid with the discrete card pictured and something integrated into the northbridge, as it's advertising hybrid without mention of another card.

It is odd though, as there's no mention of what card that is (and what card could replace it if the cooling can be refitted onto something different).... and there's no good reason for why the PCBs don't match if they're going to ship together.

A very confusing press release we've got here.

The MOBO has an 8500 built in chip, and thats a passive cooled 8500 pci-e card.
You cant Bybreed SLI the built in chip with an ATI card, but you could run just the ati card just fine if you turn the onboard one off in the BIOS.

But looks like 2x8500GT cards would give you better prefromace than 1 8600GT.( we all know it kinda sucks)
Might even get kinda close to 1x9600GT for half the cost.
This could be very nice and very quite for ppl who need low noise with low energy cost.
