If you still want the book and PaulieG hasn't sent you a book or Amazon giftcard yet, I'll be happy to send you the amount you want for your book or find a way to send you a book to make this right (or anything of around the same value), as I'm sure he would to as per his heatware comment. He's an awesome guy and seller, this was just a misunderstanding and slip-up. He may have forgotten about it, a PM can't hurt as long as you stay polite.

I asked him about this several times over several months after the initial trade. He brushed me off each time.

I posted negative feedback, and rather than apologize, he told me to remove the feedback, and then he would settle things. Giving demands to me before he would man up, just isn't cool.

He also told me if I took it public he would ban me.

He knew I wanted a book for my kid. There's a back story...the deal went from a sale for the card to him sending me a kids book. the book may not seem like a big deal, but I wanted it for my daughter:



To cheer her up after having holes drilled in her head.

He sent nothing.

I want my vga back. The book just wouldn't have the same impact, and a giftcard instead of a package my daughter can open like a gift...are you stupid? Sry for sounding harsh, but there was oh so much more to that book that jsut the book itself.


He had numerous months to send me the book. I expected the book, as he told me

Now I understand what he meant..he was gonna send nothing. HE didn't even ask for my address.

It doesn't matter what I wanted in return for the card. Regardless of the terms of a deal, they must be met, and he failed to meet them, and this is even more of an issue given his position.


I want my card now, and nothing else. Had paulie come back, and simply posted in the forums, fine...but once he started posting trades, naturally, I got upset.

It's like he stole from my daughter, and any parent will stand up to defend thier kids.


So while I appreciate your opinion, N-STER, it really has no place here. You paying someone else's debt jsut isn't cool, especially when that person would rather just brush this under the rug and do nothing.


I gave Paulie too many chances to settle this in private, and got nothing. It's been over a year, i want my shit back, or I want him gone permanently. A book doesn't cut it at this point...he chose to not send me the book I requested, he can give me my stuff back.


It should never have gone this far, and I am only posting this pic so there's a bit of substance to the feddback I have already given. I would very much like to be making this whole situation up, but I'm pretty upset over this whole thing.


The deal wasn't just for a book..it was for a bit of respite for my handicapped daughter. He can no longer provide that respite by simply sending a book, and the offer of a giftcard is nothing but a slap in the face, to me. It's just a way to further cheap out on this deal.

Ugh. This has been discussed to death. I tried to make all of this right so many times after I knew how important the book was. He flat out wouldn't let me. Finally, I have his address so that I can make this right, and then some. I may have made an initial error, but it should be clear that I knew NOTHING about his daughter's surgery at the time of the deal. I actually didn't understand the importance of the book at all. It wasn't until afterwards that I understood. I felt horrible about the situation. I handled it poorly, and I really wanted to make it right. From the very beggining, I thought the book was kinda like when you give something to a friend and you say "do a favor for me sometime" kinda thing. If I knew the true meaning, I would have never procrastinated in sending the book though. In any event, the mods have all discussed this, and it was suggested that I just send what was due originally, but because I messed up, I want to do more, and not that I actually have his address to send it, that is exactly whet is going to happen. It is important to note that this would have been fixed long ago, but when I tried for the last time a few months ago, I was refused the ability to fix it. So, I'm not sure what purpose this all serves after all this time and refusals.

This is my one and only post on this topic. I'm sorry for the initial mistake Dave. It was not on purpose, nor was it malicious. I'm guessing that erocker or Wizz will lock the thread if it turns into a huge argument.

I saw a similar incident unfold on another forum, except it involved a dispute between two mods.

The ultimate decision was to revoke and ban both mods/members, rather than determining which party was at fault. I thought the administrator's decision was ruthless and unfair, but I believe it was the only reasonable choice. Hopefully the current dispute will not have to be resolved in this way.

Another more logical, but considerably more difficult and time consuming way to settle this dispute is if both cadaveca and paulieg agree to third party arbitration. In such an event both cadaveca and paulieg would post all relevant emails, postings and facts necessary for the arbitrator to comprehend the situation. The result would be an indisputable binding decision, made by said arbitrator, with appropriate consequences if obligations are not fulfilled. I don't think I need to point out the burden this places on the person arbitrating.

Now that I'm aware of this situation I believe it should be resolved swiftly and orderly. Doing any less is unreasonable and injures my opinion of TPU.

I feel for your frustrations over the deal with Paulieg - but please note that I don't wish to take sides here, as It's not really any of my business. I just hope everything is put right now and you feel ok at the end of it.

You could have gotten my address way back then in just the same fashion you did this time. And you would NOT agree to send my stuff back, you wanted to send me a gift card. You also wanted me to remove my feedback first...

There's no reason for me to explain why what I wanted was appropriate. You should have taken the box I sent the card to you in, put a book in it, and mailed it back, yet instead you didn't even make an effort back then to get my address, or keep the addres on the box. And when I messaged you every month(as shipping here usually takes 3 weeks), you NEVER asked for my address.


The purpose? It will let me read your posts without getting extremely upset about how you slighted my daughter. It will allow me to let go, and move on. It's not like you deny any of this..you cannot, other than your intent, because when it biols all down, I've been pretty calm about all of this. These steps ahve been taken to ensure that this is solved, for both of us.

Thing is, I don't need arbitration. I made an error, and I'm fixing it, and then some. The reasons it isn't fixed was my fault for the first couple of months, then it was out of my hands, as I couldn't find Dave's address, and he wouldn't give it to me again.

I wouldn't think of asking another member or a mod for someone elses address, ever. That would never occur to me for confidentiality reasons.

Anyway, the story is out in the open now, so let's drop it for now. Again, I'm left waiting, and will do so willingly, as I have been for the last 14+ months. Personally, I am sad (for lack of a better term) for both of the trading parties. As, I enjoy their company\posts in this forum.
AND, THINK OF THEM, BOTH, AS GOOD PEOPLE.
However, I am really teary-eyed\sad that the girl had to endure (not due to the trade - I am speaking of her medical problem) what she did.

All I can do is offer my prayers\wishes that she is doing well.
I hate to see a child having to go through anything that is not good.

Sorry, if that sounds harsh... but, the trade is being dealt with by the ones who need to deal with it and no one needs to be lip-beaten by third parties.

Cadaveca is still angry and doesnt seem to want to accept that. Why wont you just send him the address again cad, and let him make amends? you cannot make him send this book in the past, the only thing you can get now is something new, sent right now. either let him, or drop the issue.

Why blame the guy who performed his side of the deal. Why Blame him for being mad cause his daughter got shafted and try to publicly demean him by saying he is acting like a child in not so many words.

Edit: I also saw Paulieg's For Sale thread he put up to get the funds or trades to make this deal with Cadaveca right... This is a pretty stand up thing. Seriously guys. We are working it out. He has requested a 4870 1GB card to be sent to him, and that is what I'm gonna do. I'm not really sure what anymore discussion about this really achieves, despite what those opinions may be. I handled things poorly on my end, mostly out of forgetfulness, and Dave's perception was that it was much more than that, despite the fact that I knew nothing about his daughter's condition until much later. Either way, it really just needs to end in a way that is amicable to those parties who are involved. I'm sorry for not making the book a priority at the time of the deal, and he is getting what he has asked for.

I'm pretty sure you were at the time. You even sent me a PM back then in response to me PM'ing you about the situation. I told you in PM back then I thought it was dealt with, after you offered to make a most in the dispute resolution thread(which was then still active). I prefered to try to deal with this in private, and dropped it when Paulie stopped posting regularily. He came back, it got brought up again.

Hey, hey, how is it not cool? I had no idea about the details of this dispute and how deep it got or anything. I like you cadaveca, and I loved how PaulieG had handled the transaction between me n him, I just wanted to do a favor for both of you, and tbh I doubted I would even have to as I was pretty sure PaulieG would. Also since I am in Canada, shipping would be faster and easier. I thought it was only a misunderstanding and superficial, and if a kid's book was all it took, I would have sent you all of mine. All I wanted to do was help out, I never heard out your daughter or him saying to take the negative feedback off before he would do anything or anything like that. All in all, my intentions were good.

Anyhow, I'm happy everything turned out fine. I'm sorry about your daughter, I hope she recovered fast I'll PM you if I can find my childhood books. I don't remember if I gave them away or stored them in the basement lol.
