But, TBH, I haven't really had the time to delve into the hardware sections to offer some help, either - I've just been too busy with school work to be able to commit the extra time to following threads helping out. That's not to say I won't offer some advice if I see a thread I could throw something out in. Typically, though, I'll hop onto audio-related threads before anything else, as it doesn't require too much thought on my part . . . but those threads tend to get buried rather quickly

(*hint* *hint* audio subforum request!!! *hint* *hint*)

But, a lot of us here have "specializations" you could say - certain areas where some users are a ton more knowledgable than others. For example, I know next to squat about liquid cooling, but audio is a different matter altogether. I'm fairly good with OCing DRAM, ATI and Intel setups, but I'm in the dark on AMD and nVidia equipment.
exactly i mean exotic mobos and highend cooling i could throw some specs at ya but personal help lol i dont know squat but nvidia cards i consider myself knowledgable their throw me a question and ill try to anwer same with intel setups i knew my ins and outs about AM2 in the beginning but i dont know alot about their latest stuff since iv been in the intel game for quite sometime..i think the key is busy life style and specilizations.

well - busy life might have a lot to do with it the last few months . . .

many of us have gone back to school, plus the elections drama - holidays are rolling up hard and quick, fewer daylight hours . . .

I think quite a few users might just not have the extra time or joose for it right now.

No complaints here.. one of the BEST forums i have ever been apart of. Although Fitseries3 has a very good point, And Some good threads he has made to involve TPU as an online community. Make him a mod to spice things up abit. haha. Really creative things you posted up, And no one even tried to reply on some.

if anyone thinks TPU sucks i suggest you spend a day on overclock.net. i have NEVER seen a site with so many dumbfu** ahole kids that have no idea what anything is about and they are fanboys like crazy. to them its all talk and never any show. every single thread has an argument that is totally pointless and usually ends in a closed thread or ban of someone.

lol, agreed! One of the biggest reasons I ended up here was how "73h 1337" other sites are.

One thread says you have a problem with an intel driver (god knows WHY, but its there) a format/uninstall would fix that. problem solved. your 06 issue appears to be OCing related.. so thats simple enough, work on your OC more. if it still happens at stock, then its a software problem... you say it happens on all your systems, so thats obviously a problem unique to you, as everyone else runs it fine.

ya cant just complain cause no one can fix your problem!

its a rare problem, possibly unique to his setup. theres not many people on here who are going to have two raptors RAID'ed to begin with, let alone cloning them off to another HDD. format and reinstall is the easy, and obvious solution... that doesnt help him wanting to clone it tho, does it?

thats the point. why would i (or any other person) post in a thread, if the only solution we have, isnt a solution at all?

It just means he's asking for things that people have no answer to, thats no fault of the forum.

Good members do not protest ban-evaders' re-ban.

Intel has had that avatar for months now, I didn't find much more inappropriate than the babes/chicks you use (it was just comic, and I didn't take offense) How come all of a sudden you took it? Not that you're new to seeing it? Or is it because Intel isn't around to answer you?

i must admit that i thought intels avatar has gone too far. Its not something i'd really like to be left here at TPU.

I'm not opposed to pictures of scantily clad women being banned either, although i'm neutral towards them. I've seen some forums where that got out of hand, and you certainly lose the younger members, and the female ones.

I don't get why we're wasting time on Intel's av, and all of a sudden now. He's not posted for ages, he doesn't surface in the recent posts, when he did have that avatar and was active for weeks with it, nobody complained, not even good member Panchoman. Why now? I don't think removing it would be much of a problem though.

As to the avatar, I have to say it crosses no less than three lines:
a) Sexual in nature.
b) Demeaning to women.
c) Demeaning to the physically handicapped.

I admit, I swallowed hard when I first saw it because it is not my place to complain; however, I did not see the humor then and I still do not see it now.

The [super]mod/admin can always access a member's UserCP to make changes to the account.

That route generally angers/frustrates users and can lead to a blacklash which in turn leads to an unnecessary banning.

If it were straight up porn, I would be in favor of an immidiate intervention like that; however, this is a minor offense so I would notify via PM with a deadline (a week in this case) to change it and failure to do so will result in an intervention.

TBH - I don't think either course is a good idea ATM with intel.

It hasn't been that long since the last big fallout where it was damn near every TPUer vs intel - with things being that recent, it's quite possible bringing up the avatar, especially from a mod, would cause a major problem, turn public, and end with him either "quiting" or being banned.

he's been a rather helpful memeber of the board here, far as I'm concerned, and it'd be a shame to see another memeber leave for something so trivial. Like I mentioned, considering how long he's had that avatar, I can't believe it's just now becoming a problem. He'll fell like everyone is trying to pick something with him again.

anyhow - erocker, what's the deal?

Naah, I don't think he'll come back to protest that, though I still miss the Intel of yestermonths: the guy we had fun with in the insomniacs' thread. I hope he comes back as a better member.

are you mocking me? "good member pancho" ? in all honesty i dont know why theissue was even brought up it seemed to have been solved and not only that but arent we not supposed to bash/publicaly discuss members here? i mean granted pancho brought one up but shouldnt the rest of us follow what was said pages and pages ago about non publicaly calling out people? take it to PM if i may speak frankly without the ban hammer i also wouldnt use the "continuing off of a discussion" line either if it were to come up because we had moved on...im sorry if i may be coming off as offending but i find this quite odd considering it is coming from a member of staff.

I didn't mock you. If I did mock Pancho, it was for all that he's claimed he's done off the forums, which I won't discuss any further. I didn't make direct references to anything.
