System Specs

which memory should i buy?

okay so i have two options that look pretty good and are under $100. i am only buying a 1 gig stick for now and will upgrade later.

does anyone know if one of these is better than the other? i know the timings are a little different but which is better for oc?

System Specs

Please note that you have the links and names backwards (the first one is OCZ and the second is G Skill).

OCZ's DDR2 is a little fidgity with some boards and it requires 2.1V to work at 5-5-5-12 timings.
I also am aware that these modules do not OC very well since OCZ generally OCs their modules as it is.

The G Skill modules run at 5-5-5-15 timings at 1.8V.
This isnt bad and you could prob. OC these a little bit more.
Of course it depends on what modules they use in the RAM.
If they use PROMOS, you prob. cant OC that much, but if they use Epilida you can do some OCing.

I would go with the G Skill since you have more headroom with adding voltage to the modules and I have heard that they OC a little bit.

i fixed the names and thanks. didn't know which one was better and they were the same price.
