OCZ to reach PC11200, 1400 MHz soon
Bit-tech has info about perhaps the fastest memory modules to date - OCZ's PC11200 modules, running at 1400MHz, rated at 5-6-6 timings with an operating voltage of 2.35V. Even though the timings are loose, the high frequency should make up for the loss in performance.
Bit-tech also spotted new Reaper HPC modules, which are now up to PC9600 or 1200MHz speeds. ![]() Source: Bit-tech |

Schweet. Ill need to get on the DDR2 wagon here by years end. Probably go K10 or something in like 6 months. Perhaps then, ddr2 prices will drop enough for these to be affordable (or in 4GB kits
)

DDR2 prices are actually suppose to go up around April. They are too low now and companies arent making that much profit on them at the moment. I wouldnt expect to see them any lower than they are now.

the whole PCXXXX naming system needs to die very soon. PC11200 doesnt roll of the tongue as well as PC3200.

tCL5 @ 700MHz is just as fast as tCL2 @ DDR560. tCL5 @ 700MHz = tCL2 @ DDR560 = 7.15 nanoseconds. tRCD6 @ 700MHz = tRCD2 @ DDR466 = 8.6 nanoseconds. When frequency rises latency drops. This is because when frequency rises the lenght of the clock cycle shortens. And since timings are measured in clock cycles...
