I have it installed and all seems to be working just fine.

I still have that question about fan speeds. It seems 5% fan now is louder than 30% used to be - also 5% fan is holding a steady temp (of 50c) whereas before I needed 30% fan to hold a steady temp (of 55c) while idling. I know you changed the way you measure temp so i am not so concerned about the actual value as the rate of change.

By the way I can not reduce fan speed below 5% without it jumping to 0% so overall the system is a little louder than it used to be.

nope

bug is still there infact its even worse that 0.0.23
When i installed on an account it was mine and i have admin and it works fine. but when logging into a diferent account with no admin the program would load up fine but get this error

But now with 0.0.24b7
i get the above error but it doesnt load the program, infact i get a 2nd error

this only happens with non admin accounts

although it may happen with a different account with admin, i doubt it. im not sure if this is because they dont have admin or because my hard drive is ntfs so it seals different folders in the hard drive that people cant access. Where is the logfile stored?

2nd bug: if using startup mode(all users) and you uninstall it wont remove the startup option.
im not sure about the registry key, but it may not remove that either when uninstalling, maybe worth checking.

3rd bug: when uninstalling b7 the atitool folder doesnt delete, could be because i had plugins enabled but may not be.

Thanks

the log file is stored in atitool installation directory. do you have the atitool driver in your device manager?

2) fixed in next build

3) fixed in next build

I know this is the wrong place to say this, but I was wondering if beta 24 addressess the bug in version 23 when you bring up the mem timings page then close it by the cross then open the page again and get garble for writing and it then crashes when you close the page.

From what I've read, ATI says you must have Admin rights to make any changes using this tool. Is this NOTthe case? It could also mean that the tool will not be useable on nonAdmin accounts. I'm not sure that this is a "bug". It seems more like a safety precaution to me. Perhaps the final public release will change this issue, but I doubt it. I personally think that nonAdmins have no business changing default settings on video cards! Most generally, if you have enough knowledge to use this tool, you should already have an Admin account! But Hey, I'm just an old lady. What do I know?

W1zzard one question:

if I use default Catalyst settings on my X800Pro modded to X800XT PE + waterblock and pencil voltmod core + heatsink on memory - and using ATITool artifacts become detected at 600/600, but NO any visual artifacts in 3DMark05 at 609/609 and some artifacts at 618/618.

but when I set Catalyst to High Quality (16x AF and 4x FSAA) - ATITool not find any artifacts until 630/624 - 3Dmark05 hangs only in third test.

is it normaly best overclock with High Quality settings?

and next:

default Catalyst settings - ATITool reported - temperature arround 72C and in 3D Preview arround 280-300fps

Catalyst High Quality settings - ATITool reported - temperature bellow 40C and in 3D Preview arround 18-21fps

what is the general opinion on this. should non-privileged users be allowed to change the video card's clock speeds?

No. They should not... The admin has some reasons on why he placed a limited account

I agree - users can potentially physically harm the system with ATI tool if they use it without knowing what they are doing. I would hate for them to have access unless they have admin rights.

Omega 5.2 & Temporal AA

Hi ATI Tool b7 is incorrectly reporting Temporal AA enabled when in fact it's not, a bug?

Cheers,

Isn't overclocking "changing settings"? Hmm.... You might want to rethink that, Luv. Why not just change the ID to Admin status?

I'm still of the opinion that it will not load because limited account holders have no business overclocking! All changes should be made on Admin status only.

Seriously guys...am I wrong on this? I 'm new to this forum, but not to Windows. I'm always open to listening and learning.

This can be debated but the request is sometimes you can set users to enjoy the overclocked frequency of the video card for playing games. Please allow to load the modified profiles for users who belong to atleast power users of windows.

again ur missing the point, it used to load fine on limited accounts with 0.0.23 just that it would give me that error writing to log, 0.0.24b7 wont load at all, its a bug.
