I knew I should have started that hardware site I was thinking about 10 years ago. DOH!

They have a nice site, but I like TPU better.

Don't worry. TPU is "only" worth approx. $280.000 USD. I'm pretty sure that he wouldn't want to sell it at that price.

For DOLLAR, use , for thousand and . for decimal.

For EURO, use . for thousand and , for decimal.

Odd, but these are the international standards. (ISO)

hrm. so if TPU sold all of its assets and added up its current cash from advertising sales it would be worth $280,000. im curious as to how that all adds up.

thats astoundingly high for such a horrendous monstrosity of journalism at its worst... But, then again, bias and "financial backing" go a long way in capitalism, don't they.

its all about who you know and how you know them.
In this case, the site is known and visited by a shitload of people.
Therefore it has a good position to offer a prime position for advertising and influencing the hardware market. You gotta spend money to make money

Toms Hardware has been one of the pioneers of IT Journalism. I remember when I first started in IT, Toms Hardware was my main source of IT news/reviews/opinions. Sure, they have had their share of controversy (ie the NVIDIA fiasco), but this is the same with the industry (journalism that is) as a whole and not just the IT sector.

Dr. Tom Pabst (MD) will always be highly regarded in my books, he helped shape the industry to what we know as today, including TPU. Overclockers as we know them today, all owe something to Dr Tom, who was one of the pioneers of overclocking.

Here is a link about Dr Tom for those interested.
