You should have stayed with the EVGA one as they provide a 'step up' program in which you can get a better card as long as you pay the difference in the price.

The case may be the most expensive case that I have ever purchased, but my friend currently owns one and it's quality.

But $380 shipped.... I haven't ever spent that much on one part before. And you know Antec makes quality cases at 1/3 that price. Either way, your new computer is going to be great.

I have one, and it's pretty decent (except for that damned fogging issue on Source games...
)

I was going to get that psu but it was out of stock by the time my payment went trough.
you should look at this place and ask newegg to do a price match! http://www.us.ncix.com/products/inde...=ZALMAN%20TECH I found that price awfully high for being USD, but what I was going to say is you might want something more powerful for when you go sli with another 8800gts.. Im not 100% sure but I think that psu has like 38-40amps on the 12v rail that might be the minimum for 8800sli but you shouldnt just go witht he minimum requirement, you need at least 20% headroom. ![]() Just trying to help out, I figure you will go sli someday maybe but than you'll need a more powerful cpu if your not running your pc on a big screen with high resolution. :P Edit: ah just seen that you had already ordered it... looks great anyway, will suit your needs for long time.

The AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is a good enough processor for gaming right? I mean, what is more powerful by AMD?

Yeah that looks nice! I've seen 4600's lol and fx ones (Iknow nothing about amd cpus, Im a newbie).
I think some fx ones might have more power but it also costs $1000. I heard of bottlenecking happening even with e6300 core2duos highly overclocked with an 8800gtx and seeing how c2d's are the fastest chipos out at the moment I figure with 2gts you would have a fairly big bottleneck with an amd cpu.. seeing how e6300 @ 3.2+ beats any amd chip in siencemark2 and gaming. including the top end fx chip. I heard from someone who had built a computer with an e6300 cpu and 8800gts that there was a slight bottleneck by the cpu (even overclocked), but I find that hard to believe. I think you'll be able to upgrade your cpu (to the newer to be released) at the start of nexted year if you felt the need for a second 8800gts, which I doubt you will need.

Right on. Thanks for the quick response. I hope this build is a little faster than my current one:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ with 2 GB of RAM. Question: Which video card would perform better: ATI X1950 Pro (256 MB) OR MSI 8800 GTS (360 MB)? ...with the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ and 2 GB of RAM? |

8800gts I believe got 2x the score of the pro in dx9 games.
. + your dx10 ready for when dx10 games come out. Im not sure about that chip but if your not planing on overclocking your cpu amd is the way to go, since that one is more than likely faster than a 6300 @ stock speed.I'm clueless about amd cpus since I just really got into computers when core 2 duo came out and the price/performance ratio was leaning towards e6300, now amd have droped thier prices on chips.

What I meant by Source games is any game that uses Valve's Source engine (i.e. Counter-Strike: Source, or Dark Messiah, or Half-Life 2, etc.). When I compare my 8800gts's image quality to my x1950pro, it sucks big time (at least for me it does)... I think a better way to go would have been the x1950pro first then buying an ATI R600 card, but since you've already ordered the 8800gts, I guess there's nothing you can do

So, will I be happy playing games on my build? I can't imagine that the components I ordered would making gaming horrible...
