System Specs

HT is secks only on Core i7. First because of the cores number and also they optimized it a lot.
HT on P4 was like afterburner that mostly burned the thing but gave no real boost. And nearly no applications supported multi core operations anyway. Quake 3 Arena was the only one and even there, gains were very small.

I don't know what you're talking about because VMs and Firefox work a LOT faster with HT on. HT doesn't make the CPU faster, I know this, but multitasking, even though benchmarks will tell you otherwise, is a lot faster. I could feel it.
