What Cable for 37" LCD as a Monitor?

I am buying this TV:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824112174

I want to buy a cable to connect it to my PC, but I am getting confused as to what DVI to HDMI cable I need.

I'm pretty sure the DVI out of my 7800 is DVI-I

All the cables I find are DVI-D to HDMI....are DVI-D and DVI-I interchangable?

Is this the best method? Should I break out my videocard adapter thingy (VIVO?) and use component?

HELP PLEASE...I want to order SOON....

read up on this...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVI

a simple dvi to hdmi cable will do just fine.

I wonder if they have a dvi to hdmi cable, but audio feed (spdif) branches out from the dvi end...that would be ideal.

I was looking on ask.com and apparently there is a DVI w/ HDCP or something..

But thanks for the response. I havent had a whole lot of time to check this out (@ work) and want to purchase this tv asap.

Basically, I bought a 32 that said it had picture in picture in the description. Well, the TV doesn't, and newegg was gracious enough to offer me a FULL refund AND pay for return shipping.

HDCP is more towards blueray and HD-dvd...if you have those, then worry about hdcp...if not, nothing to worry about.

well newegg would refend and pay shipping because they false advertised, and can be sued for that...all retailers will give you entire money back.

This is what I understand. There are 3 types of DVI cables that are widely used now: DVI, DVI-I, and DVI-D. I use a dual DVI-D

Ya I have been informed that all DVI (with the exception of DVI-A) is backwards compatible. So even though my current monitor uses DVI-D Dual link, I can use a DVI-I to interface to the HDMI on my new set...

Really looking forward to 1920x1080. 1366x720 was HORRIBLE. Most web pages require scrolling, what a PAIN.

Should be here thursday, will send out the 'falsely advertised' unit as soon as its replacement arrives....I just couldn't see dropping $125 on overnight shipping...especially since 3-day was FREE....can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!
