you know theres a bunc of great High def antennas out I would higly recommend over paying for digital cable.. there are way more channels u can get with a good hd antenna.. get a multi directional high power antenna/.. like 160-170 bucks or so.. you'll get like 30 hd channels depending on where u are.. u need to look online for the hd stations list and find out how far they are from you.. there is a guide made online about channels from a radius from an adress u put in. but it's way more worth while than paying your cable company for 4 channels 2 of which youll never watch and they cost you more and they bill you monthly for it.. the antenna is a one time payment with tons of channels.. geat buy.. gl

I tried the off the air hd before and really did not get any good signals.... however, the HD antenna I used was not the best. So I am sure that is my problem there. As far as cable HD goes, I get about 30+ HD channels... but thats in my area, I dont know how it is there. I will look into a good HD antenna though... FREE HD is always better than paying for it =)

I had looked into that one and many more like it... they only accept analog cable and not digital and the HD is only through an off the air antenna.

thanks for looking though. I appreciate it

yea my area sux lol.. and im in south florida.. direct tv has like no channels. the multi directional antennas are the best bet from what i hear also.. picks up signals from a radius instead of just from one direction like alot do.

Regular antennas will also pick up digital broadcasts for HDTVs. Even the prickly ones from the 70s that you can still find on many houses.

here are some perhaps:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815144002
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815260005 <--- both analog and digital

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815100140 <-- analog/digital
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815260004 <-- analog/digital

Of course, I think the X19XX series and new HD series of cards can handle digital HDTV (at least the all in wonders or what not)

Hope this helps

I'm using the Kworld plusTV HD PCI 115 with directTV digital cable.
It says analog/digital cable...hd over the air ATSC antenna works great, the cable signal from my directTV box works & looks good but it shows that it is analog. I think I need something like Nvidia pure vidio decoder for hardware acceleration to view the digital signal. If anyone has any advice for me I would appriciate it.

All you need to do if hook up the audio/video cables from your cable box to your pc.

Someone just needs to release a tuner that accepts a cable card. I imagine it will never happen tho. Too easy to hack.
