Does anyone need COMPUTER help
Ok there is too much moaning and groaning going on and I am sick of that.
So who wants help. I want to help someone today and be productive instead of being a baby about what happened in the past. Can I lend anyone some help with computers?

Give me money to build a new system and then you can help me. The more you give, the more I'll purposely mess up so I need it.

![]() I was looking at you post and I have had the same thing happen to me once. The problem was that my 4 pin power connector wasnt full in, so the mobo wasnt getting the proper power. Check if its in fully ![]() If that is not it than I have a feeling it is the mobo. When a mobo is not working properly it will do this. This happened to me when the PCB on my mobo blew. It would sometimes POST and sometimes it would do nothing (only the fans turned on). So I sent it back to newegg and they refunded me my money since the board was faulty. If it was any of the other components than the mobo would be beeping at you. I am sorry to give you this bad news, as I hate it when its the mobo since you have to take everything else. If you want anymore info or help I would be glad to ![]() EDIT: Sorry if this was already mentioned in your thread...As I did not read the entire thread. Also, just out of curiousity what is the min. requirements for your 7600GS?

Are the fan's connected to the mobo or are the 4 pin molex connectors (the ones that turn on when you press the power button). The reason I ask is that it could very well be your PSU. So the only possible options are the Mobo or PSU. If you have onboard video try using that.

So here is my recommendation. First get a cheap new board ![]() Second get a reliable and quality PSU. I would suggest looking at either FSP or Thermaltake since they are usually cheaper, but reliable.

Honestly, the best thing to do about that is to not pay attention to the suffix of the name. They are constantly being rearranged and occasionally even reversed. I always just look at the specs of the video card, in the end that's what really matters not the name.
It looks like you got the right order to me though.

Polaris, that is what I would do, but it is nice to go on newegg and look at a GS and a GT and say "hm this one should be faster let's check it our first"

Hey Bruins my good man!
Since your offering, i thought i'd take advantage! What after market cooling (Not too expensive but relatively decent) would you recommend for my Sapphire ATi X1900XT and how easy is it to fit? I've got it running at like 80-100% fan speed on load and hit hits a max of 60-70*C and about 46*C idle so im not looking for THAT much cooling since these are okayish temps. Also, are these sort of after market cooling things capable of coming off one card and going on a later version, say if ATi brings out a new card, will it fit that too? Cheers mate, Hux. |

Hey Hux, Check out this one ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186002 ) Its the ARCTIC COOLING Accelero X2 and is extremely quite and cools very well. I have heard drops of up to 20C (that is going from the Sapphire stock cooler to this one).

Well Bruins since you are up for a challenge I will toss one your way.
I have a Dell laptop at work that is being a bit uncooperative. The laptop has had overheating problems in the past, but a thourough cleaning, re-applying thermal paste and setting it on a laptop cooler with fans has made it behave. However, the problem I am seeing is that the network connection intermitantly drops and then returns. I thought that perhaps it was getting a bit warm and the integrated NIC was occasionally failing, but it is so irregular I am not sure. All network cables are good and tested all the way back to the switches. It doesn't matter where I hook it up in the building, it still drops in and out randomly. The cat5 plug is seated firmly in the laptop and is not sloppy. It can be moved a bit, but that is the same with any cat5 plug on any NIC jack. So ... take a shot at what you think it may be ...
