Maybe I am missing something, but shouldn't there be some kind of cooling installed on the VRs of that x1950Pro?

Um moderators close this thread, did you not read my thread? YOUR VRMS ARE NOT HEATSINKED. This product will fail upon usage.

EDIT:

Buy the VRM plate before selling the product. Try it on, DONT use it until you install the VRM plate, the zalman heatsinks will do as well.

Notice the flange? thats there to throw air directly over them, thus keeping them cool enough. The card us perfectly usable, the additions of heatsinks would just be a better solution.

If I wasn't worried about there already being VR damage from running with them un-sinked I would take it. $100 might make it more appealing to me though.

Must....resist....upgrade....urge.... .

I must say, very fine deal for a very fine piece of hardware. I want it, but I'm not the kind of guy that goes around spending $120 willy-nilly. As much as I want to say otherwise, my X850XT will hold me over until DX10 really takes over.

Oh, and free bump for you .

You can choose from the ATI or Sapphire, the ATI has VIVO, the Sapphire doesn't.

Dude, they arent, they are running 120*C + without heatsinks.
They run hot enough to set a piece of paper on fire.

Now they are fine though. Thats enough

ZEK QUICKLY BUY IT

Tons of people have installed the acceleroX2 without the VRM plate and the GPU died shortly afterwards. Just airflow is not enough.

TK, I had my sapphire X1950Pro for a good 5 months and it had NO sinks on the VR's, just a 80mm fan blowing under the card for airflow! It worked just fine and dandy @ 648/817... 24/7 and I folded on it every moment I could!
