WIN $3000 if you can defeat Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel at Computex
PowerColor, Cooler Master and Universal ABIT are in search of a challenger in Taiwan to take on Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel, the world’s best known professional video gamer, during COMPUTEX 2007. Is this guy human? Can he be defeated? PowerColor, Cooler Master and Universal ABIT want a worthy challenger to give him a run for his money. We will reward the challenger with 100,000 NTD (or about US$3000) if he or she can defeat Fatal1ty on June 5th.
Universal ABIT, a leading manufacturer of high-end gaming motherboards and peripherals and a Licensee of the Fatal1ty Brand, has invited Fatal1ty to visit Taiwan during COMPUTEX 2007. All three companies, Universal ABIT, Cooler Master and PowerColor, have decided to collaborate to gather the best gamers in the nation to put Taiwan on the map of professional gaming and international eSports. Qualifiers will be held on June 2nd, 2007, from 12pm to 6pm (12pm-1pm for registration) at Aztec Internet Café (Nan King East Rd. branch), Taiwan’s foremost chain of Internet Cafés. The challenger will emerge from the qualifiers and get a chance to take on Fatal1ty at the same venue at 4pm on June 5th, 2007. Sign up online at the Aztec website (http://www.azteccup.com/Race_Detail.php?RaceNo=72) or sign up in person at any Aztec branch. “I love Taiwan, and welcome a chance to go back to support our licensee Universal ABIT and participate in this great event to help promote gaming and hopefully inspire gamers from Taiwan to compete professionally”, says Johnathan ‘Fatal1ty’ Wendel “Cooler Master is the master of thermal solutions and the first to design an all aluminum PC case for gamers worldwide”, says Coco Lee, Gaming Project Manager at Cooler Master. “Through interactive activities, Cooler Master will build up its communication with gamers and contribute with professional technology and quality products to the gaming community.” ”As long time supporters of the global gaming community, ABIT is extremely proud to be able to spread the word about competitive gaming and eSports in Taiwan”, says David Jarlestedt, brand manager at Universal ABIT. “By inviting Fatal1ty, the world’s most successful professional video gamer, to Taiwan, we hope to demonstrate the true magic of gaming at the very highest level, and hopefully inspire the best talent in Taiwan to take the leap, get serious and go pro.” “We are ecstatic to be having the best gamers in Taiwan challenge the best known gamer in the world. We really want to step up and challenge him, which is why we are giving NTD 100,000 as prize money to any person who manages to beat Fatal1ty”, says Raymen Wu, marketing manager at PowerColor. |

Quake4
At the Aztec Site there is a big QUAKE 4 logo, so I guess that's the game of choice!

Actually he makes quite some money. If there is one thing women love it definately is money. No matter what you look like or how pathetic you are, if you have money you get laid.

Very true that money gets you women (or anything else that takes your fancy), but I wonder if he really makes that much. I mean a few 1000 US$ here and there isn't gonna make him rich enough to impress outside the student bar.

it wouldnt impress anyone anywhere. if somebody came up to me and said he was the best gamer in the world and gets paid thousands to compete and win i would say big deal, pick up a controller and beat him at any game he chose.

Well according to wikipedia he earned at least $230,000 in 2005 alone, quite a reasonable amount if you ask me, that was from tournaments alone. Probably earns a bit more on the side from advertising for some brands ect.
Oh, and by the way - I'm pretty sure he could kick everyone on this site's arse quite easily. Edit: apparently he's only sixth in the world at the moment |

I bet someone beats him.
Also, its the showdown between W1z and Fatal1ty... In high school Fatal1ty beat W1zarrd in a game of pong and the rivalry has been going ever sense.

His claw grip on the mouse makes me cringe and scream in pain. Ive tried that one mouse by Creative, and it hurt the hell out of my hand.

I really believe that Fatality will be destroyed this time. He is the best "known" gamer, but the world is full of better players, and many of them will take this oportunity to show their self. So, the one that reach Fatality will give him an ambarassing and stunnig face smack, every body will be sorprise jeje. (sorry for my english)
