My X850XT has NEVER gotten above 67*C.
With the current cooling I have on it, the thing is around 60*C on load. Otherwise, it's chilling at 30*C while I do mundane tasks like AIM and this. I have yet to see an in-game artifact from it. I've seen a few artifacts while fooling around in ATItool, but otherwise my Zalman VF-900Cu is doing quite a nice job of making sure everything is happy. If I owned one of the X1k/G80 cards, I'd be alarmed if my card got over 80*C. But meh, you'll learn eventually. Buying a new graphics card every 2 months does that to a person .

Still a little warm, but could be worse, heh.
As long as it's stable, and is not artifacting, then I guess it's still a good temp. |

Ok so its 83C on ATI tool load. Thats not so bad, as gaming temps and idle temps should be lower still.
However i've owned x1650's (just sold my last one) and none of them ever went above 60C at load... so you might want to consider upgrading the cooling, if you really want to OC it that badly.
