Cleaning CPU Pins and pin holes?

I used white spirit to clean my motherboard of silicon sealant, motherboard seems to function fine, but with cpu it turns off. can i use white spirit to clean CPU pins and socket pin holes of die electric grease?

ps cpu didn't work in another motherboard, don't want to try other cpus in the motherboard that has grease on it. any way of testing it?

Take the battery out of the motherboard and put it in the dishwasher with hot water.NO SOAP.

Let it dry out for a week before you try and use it again.

If you need a new CPU and your motherboard is socket 939, I'll get you a 3800+ for $60 .

My new mobo, RAM, and CPU are all very nice. They run cool, nearly silent, and make gaming MUCH smoother.

Doesn't do shit for my sciencemark scores though .

No plans to overclock it, stuff tends to last longer when it's not overclocked.
