OCZ and PC Power & Cooling Join Forces to Revolutionize Power Management

OCZ today announced immediate plans to bring PC Power & Cooling into the OCZ Technology Group. As a worldwide leader in high performance computer hardware, OCZ acquired PC Power & Cooling to utilize their keen expertise in power management and take the organization to the next level.

This compelling partnership between the two like-minded companies will create a powerful fusion of patented technologies, innovative, high quality PC components, and improved accessibility of premium solutions for customers worldwide. All parties, including the consumer, will benefit from the acquisition; the combined company is now situated to deliver ground-breaking power solutions to meet the growing demand for efficient, high performance components to power the computing needs of gaming, enthusiast, and mission-critical systems builders alike.

"OCZ and PC Power & Cooling are both technology leaders that share a common passion for delivering premium solutions to consumers,” said Ryan Petersen, CEO of OCZ Technology Group. “By bringing these two established companies together we are able to leverage the strengths of each organization and accelerate the development of cutting edge products for a variety of markets. We believe that collectively OCZ and PC Power & Cooling will build on our combined heritage to revolutionize high end computing."

"As an expansion partner, I believe we have found in OCZ the ideal fit for the culture and approach of PC Power & Cooling," said Doug Dodson, founder and CEO of PCP&C. "In my new role as Chief Technology Officer, I will focus on maintaining PC Power's lead in proven ultra high-performance with the Turbo-Cool line, and in value and quiet computing with the Silencer line, as well as provide guidance for the continuing improvement of OCZ's power management solutions. I am excited about the improved accessibility of PC Power & Cooling products and I am confident that our rich tradition of reliability and innovation will continue to strengthen as a part of the OCZ Technology Group."

Building on a shared understanding and mutual enthusiasm for leading-edge computer technology, OCZ and PC Power & Cooling will seamlessly unify to represent the pinnacle of performance. Look for all of OCZ Technology Group's current and future products in its worldwide network of distributors, e-tailers, and retail stores.

Sounds interesting. I hope that OCZ actually uses PCP&C's power supply tech, as opposed to just using the name.

Hmm I wonder if this is good or bad.

Hopefully OCZ will once again use quality parts and power management techniques.
Not the other way around since PC Power and Cooling is da best

OCZ likes module PSUs while PC P&C does not. It will be interesting see their next PSU design.

Not all of OCZ's PSUs are modular.
Only 1 series is modular and the other one isnt.

I believe there will still be OCZ and PC Power and Cooling PSUs out there, but they will both be using similar techology and parts.
Hopefully, they go with PC Power and Coolings

I'm frankly surprised... next thing you know PC&PC make a 430W PSU that can power 2 HD2900XTs and have 100% efficiency.

I second all your opinions erocker, eastcoasthandle and bruins. I dont know if this is good or bad. I mean, I like it, cause OCZ makes killer memory products. Perhaps this is good news for them. I hope they just go with PC Power and Cooling really. Get rid of the OCZ Power supply name and stick with the PC P&C

ocz will keep the pcp&c brand. ocz will focus on gamers and performance segment. highend and ultra high end will still be the pcp&c brand.

ocz's distribution/marketing/sales channels will be used to sell the pcp&c products.

of course they will use their engineering resources

This is bad for consumer's.

OCZ is definitely showing its focus is entirely dollar based.

Ever since OCZ started branching out into every product group, and pumping out new lines of memory monthly, they have been going downhill in terms of being an enthusiast company.

Now they are buying out competitors.

really? I thought this was good news, as both companies had different targets - ultra high end, and mid-to-high range. Now the two are combined, PC&C should be able to be made/ship in greater quantities (OCZ's retail channels) as well as sharing tech - PC&C might get cheaper, and OCZ might get better.

except OCZ always had high end products that tried to compete.

And now that the next best has been eliminated, they no longer need to put as much effort into beating pcpc.

no it hasnt been eliminated - they're continuing business as always, selling PC&C high end PSU's - OCZ wont compete with them, because OCZ own them.

OCZ has had high end stuff, but it was never in the same ballpark as PC&C

First of all let me identify myself as the Marketing Manager at OCZ Technology.

I appreciate your feedback and comments.

Let me ensure you that we are not going to make any changes to the PC Power & Cooling lineup at all.

The OCZ PSU lineup will also continue to exist and of course benefit from the quality of PCP & C units.

Now we can offer the complete range of solutions from mainstream to
commercial.

PC Power PSU’s
Premium ‐Enthusiasts, Industrial, Customized Solutions, high end Si’s, Server class and mission critical, Dell upgrades)

OCZ PSU’s
(Mainstream – Gamers, modders, enthusiasts, system builders)

Thanks for that little at ease Tobias. I like some others here, was a little bit hesitant at first. However with great distribution and perhaps a nice discount on parts, Im hoping this merger will lead to the PC P&C being a bit cheaper to purchase.

BTW, Love your guys' memory
