HL2: Lost Coast HAS BEEN A FREE DOWNLOAD since 2005. What's new is it has been added to Steam.

HL2:LC is the "one level" demo of HDR lighting. Nice level add-on, but not a full game.

90% of all games since 2000 have automaticly adjusted settings for gfx card, steam has a detect hw function so ^^

I have an "ATI Radeon" X1650 Pro and I already have HL2 on my computer because one of my brothers used it on it once so in my steam account which I created a few minuts ago it already says Half Life 2:Lost Coast and Deathmatch are pre-downloaded and click here to purchase. What should I do to get it to notice I have a Radeon X1650 Pro?

Here is instructions:

1.Go to this site and click "Get it now" http://www.steampowered.com/ati_offer1a/
2.Go through the things and you can either download it or if it is already installed on your computer it will activate it.
3. Enjoy

you can create as many accounts as you want with one ati video card. there is no identifier like a unique serial number on any video card.

Same as if you own it. Your allowed to install HL2 and CS:S on as many machines as you want so you can LAN with one game

At least its something with ATI. The Valve Black Box will definately help sell the HD 2900XT series.

One question. For all the HD2900XT owners on here, what are your experiences with it? Was it worth th $399.99 tag? Im definately curious as I plan on getting one in a bit.

A few quirks thus far, eagle, but the A/V features, along with it's great performance, make it worth every penny, imho.

According to this article, also discussed here, it looks like the R600 cards (which veer towards geometry processing) won't run under DX10 as well as the G80 cards, which focus more on pixel processing. The article is about Unreal Tournament 3, but I'm sure it'll apply to modern games as well.

As the discussion thread suggests, it's weird for ATI to focus on something that isn't the trend.
