Cdawall,

So far in SuperPI 1M with single channel I got roughly 10.5sec runs @ 4.2Ghz. Where are you currently at?

what mod are you talking about?
BTW also do you think a E5200 can pull off 10-12s?

EDIT: It looks like i maybe going Intel for my b-day. there isn't anything else i want or need so i want to go to the darkside. Are the Asus P5k pro boards good clockers? forget it i will open a new thread i haven't done that in a while. sorry people i am hyper and having a blonde moment tonight.

possibly 11.5-14, 10 would be pretty tough unless you got really REALLY good ram. 2MB cache is what limiting it in benches but its a great chip FWIW. @mod, His eSATA cage POS.

Really you should look into the e8400 or e8500. The e8500 @ stock on my rig does 14.2sec SuperPI's.

not going to have the money to do that. I am going to try to get a E7200 or higher but i think i will be stuck with a E2150(i think) or a E5200 depends on how much money i can get out of people. I am also getting a car and my permit so i can drive so the comp stuff is just a +

12.5s @3.6ghz ram @960 5-5-5-15 (ecs is a no go for high ram clocks)

Yeah, e5200 is still no slouch though!! e2150 . . . "??"

TBH you will be fine with it. I have noticed very very little difference in gaming between the e1200 and e8500, everything else makes the e1200 shit bricks. It's a little more than twice as fast.
