Radeon HD 2600XT 512MB GDDR4 pixelated

Seems like AMD still has some aces up their sleeves. After the lackluster performance of the R600 based cards, a very interesting Radeon HD 2600XT has been spotted. The card features 512MB GDDR4 at 0.7ns which runs at 1430 MHz, which is a large bump when compared to the standard 1100 MHz of a "normal" HD 2600 XT. The core runs at the usual 800 MHz. In addition to this, the card features one DVI and one HDMI port.

That's the HDMI port. Its small and awesome. Best picture and sound quality out period. This actually looks pretty awesome. Id choose this card right here over the 2900 XT based solely on price. I know it wont perform as high, but with that quiet zalman cooler (which means the zalman cooler on newegg.com will fit the hd2900xt) is awesome.

Looks better than mine : o (same cooler, but less crap on the circuit board). Wonder if this could actually beat mine in SM3.0&2.0 performance. Still hoping they bring out some HD2900GT/GTO/PRO that has the speed and the price to be the next "me wanna".

That looks like a 6 pin power connector on the card. I though the 2400 and 2600's were supposed to not be needing those. The 6 pin would be fine with me, just saying.

Paris, I'd push here around like a wheelbarrow, and drive her like a stolen car.

I'd just take her money and shove her in the neighborhood dumpster.

different core dude, im guessing the 2400/2600's dont have the recessed core compared to the shim.

DVI, HDMI, lowish power (i assume the more/faster memory made the extra power neccesary, but it should still be < 125W)

I have more than one system, so depending on its release date, this may make it into my HTPC (or a cheaper model with the same cooler)

WTF??? Ooooh wait, your british! That explains things...

Anyhow, this looks like a nice card. I'd definitely consider for a future upgrade. Now the wait and see how much it'll dent your wallet game takes place...

Hopefully it overclocks good because thats what Im thinking this card might be good for. Im already thinking its going to outperform the 8600GTS but idk if it will out overclock it.
