I have a friend that has an HD 2900XT and is using the new version of ATI Tool, however she has the 512mb version but that shouldnt really make a difference...

Hi,
Same here sapphire hd 2900xt 7.8 cats is incomptible with ati tool.........it crashes the VGA everytime. I've tried everything: drivers only, drivers and CCC, etc etc...........this piece of soft is frustrating (even though it gives better control than amd gpu tool-less guess work)

Same here:
Sapphire HD 2900 Pro 1GB -> Flashed to XT Cat 7.10 with CCC running Start ATITool... takes a minute or two for the dialog to appear and it doesn't paint completely... Non responsive so I killed the process. Exited CCC, same result. I'm sad
