If you were asking about a good cooler to cool it i could probably get you some but asking about air cooling is kinda werid.....?

I don't know of anyone who has 8800 air cooling except the stock coolers... Try water?

not if you put a fan on it (your're supposed to, thermalright just don't supply a fan, so you can choose the best for you)

I disagree. It allows you to choose exactly what you want in a fan. If they made them for 2900s, I would consider one. But, if it was available for the 2900, but came with some crappy led fan, I wouldn't even consider it, because I would end up paying for a fan that I'm just gonna toss out.

In terms of aftermarket VS stock... the stock 8800 coolers aren't slack designs, but they can be considered aftermarket. Give it a nice lap and it will perform WAY better, change the thermal paste, it gets better. However the HR-03PLUS's design is very desperate in my opinion.

The Thermalright is desperate but still good. If AMD and nvidia spent a bit more and made their high ends 65nm, most of these heat problems would go away though. But look at the Accelero Extreme , thats the only thing that will make the graphics card run cooler than stock for the HD2900XT
