You lucky dog
Yes, make sure to post some pics!! That is a sweet upgrade; one I have to only dream about for now.... -$$$$-

P.S. I would like to see the 3DMark scores for that rig once you've tweaked it

I was just wondering, does anyone here know why EVGA 8800GTS 640mb is so popular? It's one of the most expensive brands of the card, and the warranty is about the same as MSI etc...It's also the same price as an OC 8800GTS from BFG!

Superclocked version is meant to be popular, it's OCed from the factory, probably got a nice comfortable advantage against others.

Oh, and nice upgrade

Yeah, i know the feeling. Wanting but not able to buy due to lack of funds. Well this month i thought i'd go for it! Basically a whole months wages for me! I've never spent so much on my computer in one go... Hope i don't regret it.

I can't wait to see the 3dmark scores either!! It's gonna be SWEET!!!

EVGA is one of the better brands IMO. In my experience, you get a better overclock with the more expensive brands like EVGA or BFG. Leadtek is a brand i would avoid, although it does come with a fairly decent warranty. It's like the ATI Cards, i won't even consider a PowerColor, it's gonna be either ATI, Sapphire, or HIS.

Isn't there almost no difference between different brands though? It's the same core GPU, unless you buy it pre clocked, same heatsink, same design, am I crazy?

There are also other factors to consider besides the components themselves, like quality control (QC). In my experience even decent companies that make decent cards, i.e. Sapphire, can have terrible QC. People end up either loving them or hating them depending if their card works great, or if it fries, or is DOA, etc; a result of low QC.

So if you find a company with good QC, it can be worth the extra cost.

I dont know about that cooler as I do not have any personal experiance with it.

However, I used the koolance place on my GTS that I just sold... and I loved it. That thing worked like a champ!

I plan to buy another KOOLANCE block when I get my GTX

chillblast and overclockers supplier (bacata) have them, so one of them may be able to get hold of one for you (the swiftech stealth that is)
