strip audio from avi?

ok guys i need some sense of direction and maybe a few links..i have a movie here in .avi format i need to strip out the original words and narration and whatnot and i want to add my own from a loop i have created..any have an idea how to do this? the truth is im attempting to make a sorta mix..from the movie wizard of Oz and floyds dark side of the moon..im sure any floyd fans know why...plese help if u can

I did this once... warning this might take days... I dragged my favorite boom headshot video from the web into Audacity (a free music editing program) and then basically just saved it as an mp3.

ok guys i have completed that part of the task...now i need to figure out what i should use to burn this avi file into DVD format so i can watch it on my home theater setup..any ideas..dont say nero please becaise it is a piece of crap and keeps freezing

hands down the best file to dvd converter I've found.

Download ffmpeg, open a terminal/command line:

ffmpeg -i movie.avi -an -vcodec copy strippedmovie.avi

Now have your audio handy and ...

ffmpeg -i strippedmovie.avi -i yoursound.ext -vcodec copy -acodec copy bingo.avi

No transcoding, no sweat
