Windows Home Server Released to OEM

Microsoft announced the release of its latest home software to manufacturers. Windows Home Server is a stripped down version of Windows Server 2008 that will allow users to share and organize music and movies with up to 10 XP or Vista based computers, as well as game consoles and other digital devices. Six hardware vendors have signed on to create products for the OS. Most notably Iomega, which is developing a user-expandable product for consumers with up to four hot-swappable drives.

well it will be a little bit easier to set up than say using ubuntu server. of course ubuntu can handle a lot more information at once but windows home server will be able to integrate easier im sure. ill stick with my freebsd server.

Hehehe, SWEEET!

Sounds like desktop software to me!

And probably cheaper than the copy of Server 2003 R2 I run.

*Now to save for a set of DX10 cards*

Im just glad they finally released it to OEM. When it hit, it was for OEM Manufacturers only, not something we could get at Walmart of Newegg.com

Thats what I mean..... I haven't gotten my license to sell OEM from microsoft yet.
So I can't order OEM straight from them *yet*.
