THQ Brings All-Star Line-Up to Steam

As the latest in a long list of publishers joining up with Steam, THQ has announced that it too plans to add its titles to Valve's popular Steam PC game download service. The following games are now available on Steam with a 10% discount through July 24: Relic Entertainment's Company of Heroes, Iron Lore's Titan Quest and Titan Quest: Immortal Throne, and Pandemic Studios' Full Spectrum Warrior and Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers. THQ plans to make available several additional games in the near future. On the way are GSC Game World's S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, Supreme Commander, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Gold Edition, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Platinum Edition, and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade.

I have bought 2 games through Steam. They were only available on Steam at the time and that is only why I bought them. I bought DoD Source and Red Orchestra, and luckily got the pre-release discounts. I see they have some 10% discount on Steam for the next week or something. I think they should make ALL the games available on Steam cheaper then in the stores. I see CoD for $20 and CoD2 for $30 on Steam. Those are examples of games being overpriced on Steam, imo. It takes hours (well for me) to dl a whole game, and for it to cost more then it would to go buy it locally in the stores, does not sound like a must have deal for me. Steam is great for Valves games, but the other games are overpriced, imo.

i agree
valve's own games has great prices and packages like hl2 & hl2 ep1
i like THQ, i have "Company of Heroes" on "Games for Windows" DVD

most other games are over priced, that might be the REASON many "pirates" them, steam is a great way to get and play games fast and easy, all you need is a ok internet connection (2mbit+), and a Visa/Mastercard etc and around ~40GB space

most gamers are students and dont have so many monkeys to spend on games! (games cost around 500nok (~90usd) in norway!), and students has to pay apartment etc so they dont have much left

To me it seems a bad idea! But I can understand why they are doing this?! PIRACY?

But the thing is, I hate steam as a service and program. It sux... I wouldnt mind this internet service kind of games. Only if it wasnt STEAM. Hopefully some other software makers will make some own new system instead. It seams like this is the path most game devs will take to ensure revenue from pc games?? Hopefully they wont, but it doesnt look good!! I for one still like my retail DVD box format... I´ve had so many issues with games on Steam & EALive so it hasnt really made a good impression on me?!

What? you were hacking in games so they banned your account? you cant blame a company based on your actions, most people i speak to seem to be happy with steam, they offer a wide variety of games at low prices and are obtainable instantly, im going to get company of heroes in a couple of days as friends keep bugging me to get it, i take its good then?
