OC, now PC won't recognize my keyboard!
Yeah...so first of all I can't get my pc to OC even a tad manually but that's something I'll have to figure out separately...but in the mean time I've used the auto OC in the BIOS which is actually quite handy, takes my CPU up to 450FSB for a 2.5GHz clock speed and 830mhz ram...
so anyway, I'm like, let's see how much farther from 2.5 clockgen will let me take it 2.6 no prob 2.7 no prob 2.8 crash! only thing is this wasnt just your normal crash...so it reboots and seems O.K. posts and all but my KB is unresponsive...tried all my usb/PS2 ports...took out CMOS battery two different times, once for 5 mins and once for 15...still won't respond... it's not the KB as I plugged it into my lappy and still working what the heck happened?! lol please help

try reseting your BIOS?
that shouldnt have anything to do with it since it was a windows app.... unless you have it set to start up and load that profile each time? |

Got XP, don't need it anyways; Start > all programs > Accessories > accessability > on screen keyboard.
LOL

Leave the battery IN!!!!!!!!!!! People seriously dont understand. In order to correctly clear your cmos you need a current applied from the battery. Removing the battery damages the current profile so in most cases it works fine, but it does not completly reset the cmos every time. Unplug the comp, hit the power button to drain the psu, using the jumper reset it for 10 seconds, put the jumper back and plug back in. That should fix your problem unless you have a damaged motherboard.
