what about XFX GTX XXX or a XFX ULTRA and later on down the track mite buy a 2ed XFX GTX XXX or XFX ULTRA and i building a computer from my mum so if i get a XFX GTX XXX or a XFX ULTRA for $1000-$1079 it will save me $200 but if i buy a 2ed GTS for $530 ill still have to buy a video card for $200 man this is hard to think about?

Gts sli'd will do fine but any of those options are really good imo.

If money isn't a problem than go for the ultra's(not sure but if you can o/c sli'd cards than get the gtx's and o/c em).

I don't think anyone can say for sure, but if I had to guess I would say the gts sli'd would last at least a year but on games like crysis I don't think it would have great performance at 1680x1050 high settings with sli'd gts320.

It's only a guess though so can't really say much on that. Any of those options are good if you don't wanna upgrade again for a year but any longer then that I would say go for the ultra in sli'd(if sli'd cards can be o/c then go with sli'd gtx).

Honestly though I don't believe anyone can say for a fact how long vid cards can last with good performance in furture games(unless fact=guess).

Actually after reading this I'm gonna have to say any of those options would prob do.

http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/720/720538p1.html

Not sure if every thing can be on high but you should prob wait till the game is out if this is why your upgrading. Any option you choose though is still really good.

I would go with the 8800ULTRA.
Just make sure you have room for it, the card is like a foot long...

I personally have the XFX 8800 Ultra XXX. It has a 685 MHz core clock. I can honestly say I've never seen a gpu perform as well as this one does. I'm running max resolution on any game. My FPS is always perfect. If your looking for the best gpu, get this card. If your looking to just get to that resolution, get a different card.

If you're not afaraid of overclocking, you can just get a GTX and OC it to ultra speeds.
