Single Video Card VS 2 Video cards. HELP PLEASE!
Hi Guys
I have a big decision to make. Should I buy an 8800GTS video card or two GeForce 8600GT? My motherboard supports both. I was told by my friend that two video cards in my case would be the best way to go but im not sure. Does two cards like that split the load and run the graphics smoother? It’s a gaming PC. Company of heroes, call of duty 4, crysis ect. Intel Dual core CPU 3.4GHz 2GB DDR2 RAM 320GB HARDDRIVE Video card!?!??!?! Windows vista ult. Any help here would be greatly appreciated, because I know how intelligent people on this forum are! Thanks in Advance! |

8800gts no contest mate, the performance will easily outdo 2 8600gt's due to the mem interface and amount of stream processors, and you can always add another one down the road

SLI is really only good if you want the best of the best (these days that would be 2 8800GTXs in SLI or 2 8800 ULTRAs in SLI). Also, SLI/Crossfire only offer at most a 40% increase from one card. Which is a lot but not worth it when you look at the amount you would be spending on it.
