price, because its the most important overall, then performance (which you need to read a good few reviews to know), as for looks, i really couldnt care if its an internal component, though this would have some influence on a case, keyboard/mouse or monitor choice

Above all else I read reviews, some pro reviews, and mostly consumer reviews, it doesn't matter how good the price is or how good the performance is supposed to be if it's actually crap or has an issue or problem that I don't feel I should have to deal with for the price they want me to pay. That can sway me to check out the closest competitors of that product and start the same process with them, to see which one not only fits the bill, but meets what I want for performance or can reach it by OC, and has the looks I would like, looks generally come last as I like function more-so that a pretty exterior on a component, as far as I'm concerned looks are a bonus if the product is worth a damn.

Performance, because if it's really cheap and shit performance then it's a waste of money, which you could have saved for something better.
It's a balance. I'm not going to go out and spend £400 on a top of the range graphics card (for example), but I would spend £150-200 if it was decent performance and could keep me going for 12 months. |

True but you won't know how it actually performs until people try it and write about it for you to read. The more of those you can read the better odds you can figure the average performance on varied PC's, and also get an average idea for an OC if planning to do so to that component.
If you're one to try a new product without reading much as far as reviews and only go off of spec sheats, then because I will be reading what you write about it! ![]() Performance I agree is also very important, but so is function, possible problems/incompatabilities/drivers and so on. |

Performance, but price is a factor as I can't always afford the best of the best, so price and reveiws also apply.
