can 4x1gig 1066mhz sticks run at full speed?

i am ordering another set of 2x1gig ocz 1066mhz SLI's.... i've read that they won't run at 1066 if 4 sticks are being used. so does this mean that they will have to be set to 800mhz? also will EPP still work with 4x1gig sticks? (running on a 680i board)

Yes. The only bad thing about running 4 sticks is that you can't get as good as an overclock as you could with just 2 sticks.

not true - i run 4 sticks and get full OC

the striker extreme is fussy on ram however, please make sure you can return the ram before getting it, my brother for example, couldnt run 4 sticks on his. It was a board issue, rather than an issue with 4 sticks of ram.

Edit: or at least make sure your ram works in all 4 slots, my brothers main problem was that his ram didnt work in the black slots i think, therefore he was screwed for running 4 sticks of that ram.

You only overclocked to 3.6GHz. Many people max out thier oc, get 4 sticks of RAM, and realize they can't run at the speed they were before...

I think it's pretty much depend on the board. I had 4 GB of OCZ SLI 1066 and 4GB of Crucial Ballistix 1000 and both set ran at 1200 5-5-5-15 at 2.3V on Asus P5B Deluxe. However, I couldn't do it with EVGA 680i board. So if you having problem overclocking now, don't expect to hit high speed w/ 4GB.

i wish corsair would make a 2x2gig set of 1066 dominators with EPP. they'd probably be upwards of $500 though.

'only' OC'd to 3.6Ghz. yeah, thats 400x9 - 400FSB off a 266 CPU. i think this mobo handles 4 sticks of ram just fine with a quad core so i dont get your point.

You aren't running your chip at your max OC. Example:
Let's say I have a Core 2 Quad at 5GHz (I wish!!), and 2 sticks of RAM. Now I go ahead and add 2 more sticks, and can only run 4.8
