thinking e6750

i revised my budget lol. i think i can swing $195 for a e6750 off newegg. and buy a motherboard next week, ram the week after, then a vid card. or whatever order thing go on sale the cheapest.

i know next to nothing about the e6750, is it a good overclocker? or is there a different cpu that i should consider?

eventually this winter i plan to upgrade to a quad, but right now i just cant afford a 300 dollar cpu and 300 on a gpu also not to mention i need ram and a motherboard.

if anyone has a dual core intel used i'd consider that also. would actually prefer to buy your used stuff. its cheaper that way. lolz

E6750 should do well. Paired up with a decent motherboard, 400 fsb should be pretty reasonable. So that'd get you...3.6 ghz. Give it a great mobo, a good cooler, and if you get a good chip, you could get 500 mhz fsb, so 4.0 ghz. Personally I think the e6750 is the best out of the dual core line up if you can't afford the 3.0 ghz one (forget what that one is).

The 6750 is def a nice chip. Got mine last week because there on special price across most uk sites. Just couldn't afford the extra for 6850.
As for oc'ing just take a look at mine and tiggers, both of us have hit 4ghz, 500+fsb. His is just a bit nicer on the vcore.
