System Specs

Looking at a x1950pro.

I am building a new system. I will probably get the MSI p35 neo2-fr , e2180 cpu, Crucial Ballistix
800mhz memory. i have windows xp will not use vista until more games with dx10 come out and some of the bugs are worked out. is the x1950pro a better choice than the 2600xt?
Thanks for your help.

both are great cards in single and dual card setups, but if you do choose the 2600xt, go with the gddr4 version or it won't be worth your time or money.

As DX10 isnt your main concern, get the 1950Pro, it will slaughter a 2600XT, especially in higher resolutions with AA and AF

I would say to go with the 1950Pro as well. The 2600XTs do not perform that well in DX10 and might not perform as well as a 1950Pro in some games with higher graphics settings.
