I actually can't since going to a newer driver. 7.10 doesn't install, so I used 7.08. When I tried installing it later, it just outright doesn't work.

I've had that problem before, but it was directly related to CCC and .Net. Uninstall or system restore so there is no .net on your computer, then install them or windows update them from the beginning. I've had to do that before, and yea it's a pain in the ass, but it worked. Maybe give that a try?

Omega doesn't use CCC, either. It installs a control panel into the desktop properties window that offers the same functions as CCC, without requiring .net 2.0. I believe using Ati Tray Tools offers all the same options (and more) than CCC does, and I believe it also allows xFire control, too. This might be a better option for you.

but, without .net 2.0, CCC won't run. If you want, MS offers a compact .net 2.0 framework redistributable through their download site that offers only the bare essentials.

Yes if you want to mess with settings. IF you don't use it it sets everything to default.

I pretty much used ATi Tray Tools right from the start of owning the X1950pro.
CCC just bogs down the system.
As Imperial Reign said it offers the same and more useful tools like GPU temp readings before and after a game in the system tray, in game screenshots, FPS monitor OSD. . . . .

ati tray tools KILLS ccc for perf and fetures, and ray is ALWASE adding new fetures to it as they become avalable, im quite happy with the omegas, omega does a great job and has far more exp that the guy who makes the warcat drivers (horrible drivers!!!!) or the other moders out there.

hell look at what hes done with the 7.10's he added agp support and a TON of cards the official cats dont support, omega has alwase been one of the only options for mobility users who dont want to wait for dell or the like to update their driver pages.

although, if you're set on wanting to have CCC installed, you can disable it from starting when Windows boots.

go to Start>Run> and type in msconfig and hit enter. Once msconfig pops up, hit the 'Startup' tab, and deselect CLIStart. The next time you reboot the computer, CCC won't load at bootup, but if you right-click on the desktop, you'll still have the option in the rclick menu. CCC won't open unless you select it from the rclick menu, or from Start>Programs>.

Only reason I still have CCC installed is for VPU recover - it's saved me many a reboot when OC my 1950 and the GPU freezes.

you dont need ccc for vpu recovery, its on by default when you install the drivers and you can enable/dissable it using ATT, but it is alwase on by default CCC dosnt have anything to do with that.

Another vote for TrayTools, the only thing they don't have that I'd want would be better AVIVO support, otherwise they're a great way to go. Just install the display drivers not the full pack, and then tack on ATT.

AVIVO isnt even well supported in ccc, the converter sucks currently, better off with mediacoder at least its full fetured, the deinterlace support is only usefull if you use WMP to play videos, i use WinDVD or neroshowtime(can use the avivo cards to decode video!!!)

i just wish amd would make them build a new version of ccc that was C++ based insted of .net!!!

true, but, IDK if it's my card or what, but disabling/enabling it through ATT does not always disable/enable VPU recover for me . . .

plus, there's some options I use for DVI connections in CCC that hasn't been implemented into ATT yet.

I agree.
Maybe they should finally admit to themselves CCC is bogging down systems using .net 2.0, scrap it and start again or even better just let ATi Tray Tools be CCC, fancy it up and give Ray Adams royalties and make him a rich man.

Yes, so he can finally support the 2900.

But anyway, Tray Tools actually has more Avivo tweaks than CCC. They're under the advanced tweaks.
