This is not true. There is always a "sweet spot" where the PSU is the most efficient and it is usually around the mid-point somewhere.

People are complaining about the amperage draw of this, but some hair dryers and space heaters draw more.

Why on earth would a 1500 watt desktop computer PSU carry quad rails... haven't they learned anything from the enthusiast market?
